There was an attempt to create a shader, but in the end a week is not anywhere near enough time for me to learn how to write these things from scratch. I still learnt a lot though!

The shader can be distributed around the scene using textures setup in blender on each face you want the shader to be present. As shown below in an earlier prototype.

The colours all all configurable, as are the noises used to create the height information, and the wind displacement.
